Charter and Roku resolve 9 month standoff and reach new Spectrum TV carriage deal!

As a Charter Analytics Manager focused on programming content strategy, I am thrilled to spread the news that Roku devices will once again start carrying Spectrum TV's live and on-demand applications.

Charter is the second largest US Cable operator and Roku is the market leader in Smart TVs. Many of Charter's new offerings include reduced prices and flexibility, such as Spectrum Choice, Essentials and Stream. While the set-top-box customers were probably not as impacted by Roku's dispute with Charter, the 9 month period meant that any IPTV (internet streaming) customers could not download the Spectrum TV app on Roku. I'm glad to see this resolved and happy that Roku and Charter can continue their partnership!

โ€œCharter Communications and Roku have reached a mutually beneficial agreement to renew distribution of the Spectrum TV App (STVA) on the Roku platform. As a result of the renewal, the Spectrum TV App is now available for download from the Roku channel store. We are pleased to renew our partnership and offer this great streaming experience to our shared customers." - Roku and Charter shared statement
