LinkedIn Alternative Bizfluence wraps up Wefunder campaign: $466K Invested from 400 Bizfluencers

Updated: Aug 23, 2021

Correction Note (8/23): My earlier blog release on August 21st cited $442K. That has since been adjusted to $466K according to Wefunder.

Bizfluence was crowdfunded by users and supporters. From 400 Bizfluencers, $466K was invested in a platform that will enable SMBs and entrepreneurs across the world to do more business.

The Wefunder campaign closed Friday August 20, 20201! Stellar last month! Thank you to all the Bizfluencers who believe in this like I do! Special congratulations to Jacob Davis and Joel Wolh.

No abuse of user data.

LinkedIn’s focus is similar to Facebook’s—generate scrolling and interaction to increase ad rev.

Bizfluence can and will do this differently. Monetizing on transactions and SaaS tools while keeping the core networking platform 100% free is the better approach in my own view.

LinkedIn is a phenomenal company in many ways, but it frankly fails for a lot of users who aren’t super extroverted sales people. I still find it ridiculous that you have to pay for Inmails. As Joel would describe it: “this is modern day rollover minutes for professionals.”

For example, where are the productive set of tools, network filtering, and discussion forums for the Oil & Gas, Construction, Accounting, Personal Trainers, etc. of the world?

For me, I work in tech and media, so the Construction and Real Estate Networks are less applicable to me. I focus on Bizfluence’s technology, media, analytics, and startup networks. Bizfluence just launched 2.0 and have an array of features and improvements still to come on the immediate product roadmap 😊

You can follow @RealBizfluence and @joelwolh where the startup journey and news will be released as well.
